Acknowledgement: At a faculty brownbag lunch session in the Spring of 2003, hosted by Provost Marcia Welsh, Professor Coleman Paul expressed the need for a faculty newsletter. Bruce Rosenbloom, took up the challenge and initiated this online forum for faculty articles and ideas. We thank Professor Paul and all those who contributed to the genesis of this newsletter.

The Teaching and Research Forum is published once per semester by the Faculty Center for Professional Excellence (FCPE) of Adelphi University. Our goal is to encourage an ongoing dialog on issues related to pedagogy and research as well as provide a forum for ideas to improve teaching. Some of the areas this publication may address include:
research conducted by Adelphi faculty
general articles about teaching and learning
technology and its impact on teaching, and
on-going forums and workshops on campus about teaching, research and grants.

In an effort to constantly improve this publication, we urge you to provide your feedback on this issue, and consider contributing to this newsletter in the future. Please send your feedback to the Editor at rosenblo@adelphi.edu

Articles:
We welcome short articles from Adelphi faculty and staff with an interest in improving teaching and research and who wish to share their knowledge and experience with colleagues. Articles should be about 2 pages (500 words) saved in MS-Word or similar format, with a 1-2 sentence bio and photo of author.

If you have some article ideas, please e-mail the newsletter editors at FacultyNews@adelphi.edu or call Bruce Rosenbloom at X 4225.
