Adelphi University’s Faculty Center for Professional Excellence is pleased to host the 8th Annual Teaching and Learning Conference

Ken Bain, Ph.D.

Ken Bain, Ph.D.

This year’s theme, “Small Shifts, Big Impact” draws inspiration from James Lang’s book Small Teaching, in which he highlights research-based teaching strategies that are easy to implement.

The spring conference which celebrates Adelphi’s leadership in teaching excellence will feature both breakout concurrent workshops on evidence-based teaching practices and trends in technology and pedagogy, a keynote address from a leader in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), vendor fair and luncheon.

This year’s keynote speaker, Ken Bain, Ph.D.,  president of the Best Teachers Institute, author of What the Best College Teachers Do, professor of history and founding director of several centers for teaching and learning, will deliver a 75-minute interactive session from 1:00 p.m.–2:30 p.m. in the University Center Ballroom.
