Instructional Contingency Planning

A Moodle course for faculty has been created for teaching during emergencies, campus closings or other disruptions. Please visit the site to sign in and self-enroll with your universal username and password. We will update the course with additional resources on how to use instructional technologies in the event of an emergency or campus closing.

Recommended Tools for Continuity of Instruction

We recommend the following tools for various teaching needs during an emergency. For more information on how to use them, please sign up for a workshop or make an appointment with an instructional technologist by contacting x4221.

  • Moodle Discussion Forums, Quizzes and Assignments
For information on how to create Moodle discussion forums, quizzes and assignments please visit our online Moodle tutorials. Sign up for a workshop here.
  • Lecture Recording Directly to YouTube
    • Tools needed: USB Webcam or Built-in Webcam, or iPad/iPhone. No additional software is required! *We recommend using a wired connection to the internet if possible to ensure faster upload speeds and better quality.
    • Teaching Activity: With this built-in feature from YouTube, you can record a lecture directly to your Adelphi YouTube channel. It’s fast, and easily accessible for your students to view. After you’ve recorded your lecture, simply paste the link into your Moodle course shell for your students to view.
