iTunes U is an academic version of Apple’s popular media delivery tool, iTunes. It allows faculty to quickly and easily upload their podcasts and other media files so students have immediate access to these course materials.
Faculty interested in creating and distributing podcasts, such as recorded lectures via iTunes U should submit the iTunes U Course Request Form. Only then will they be able to access an iTunes U course site to which they can upload materials.
In order to access iTunes U, the generic iTunes application needs to be installed on the users computer. It can be downloaded to a Mac or PC. iTunes U will not run properly without the latest version of iTunes.
Use your ecampus username to be able to access Adelphi’s iTunes U site. As a faculty member, you will only see your courses on this site if you have requested them with us. If you have not submitted the course request form, you will not see any courses listed after login in.
The content on Adelphi’s iTunes U site is separated into three categories. The top section, My Courses, will display only the courses in which you are registered and that have iTunes U course pages.
In the open courses/lectures section, content is available to anyone that has an Adelphi University username and password. If you are interested in creating material to showcase in this section, offering your entire course, or showcasing select lectures from your courses, please schedule an one-on-one appointment with a FCPE technologist.
In University Events, the bottom section, you will find podcasts of guest speakers that have presented on campus and events sponsored by various departments on campus.
