Moodle Orientation - An Online Demonstration
A condensed online demonstration of Moodle’s main features. Participants log into the session remotely via an Internet browser on a computer of their preference (home, office, etc). This session is provided in an audio/visual presentation style rather than as a handson workshop. Directions and system requirements will be provided upon registration.

Moodle I
This workshop provides a comprehensive introduction to Moodle. Participants will learn and practice how to customize course settings, add materials and activities, and structure the course effectively. Best practices will be discussed on how to add and manage resources, assignments and discussions.

Introduction to Developing Online and Blended Courses (ONLINE)
This course is designed for faculty who are planning to develop a blended or online course as well as faculty just interested in familiarizing themselves with these modalities.

Integrating Web 2.0 Technologies into Moodle
This workshop showcases free Web 2.0 tools that enable students to collaboratively create and share content with each other. Tools featured include Del.icio.us social bookmarking; Youtube video sharing; Twitter; media presentations with VoiceThread; and more. Faculty will learn the pro’s and con’s of these tools and how to integrate them with Moodle.

Collaboration with Google Apps
Google Groups is a free online tool that is used to access and share information with a goup of people, and communicate effectively over email and on the web. Learn how to create your own groups; search groups in your discipline; share information and create collaborative documents; and research with peers around the country and world.

Collaborative Learning with Wikis
Wikis offer a simple tool for collaborative content creation and other group projects. Essentially, Wikis are websites that multiple users can edit and modify from any location with an internet connection. Participants will learn to create and administer Wikis.

Flipcams in the Classroom
These “super” handy-cams come at an affordable price and are the size of a cell phone. With only a few buttons to operate, they come with easy to use editing software for immediate burning of DVD’s or sharing on the internet. Participants will learn to operate this new generation of user-friendly video camera, and experience how its use in the classroom can promote engaged and meaningful learning for students.

Podcasting and iTunes University
Faculty will learn how to record lectures and other content via a sound recorder, how to upload files onto a computer, and how to edit sound to suit their needs. Adelphi’s iTunes University is used to distribute the created media files.
