As the hub of information gathering at Adelphi and a great place to study, research, and explore, the Libraries at Adelphi play an active role in teaching students and other faculty how to gather information from both traditional and computerized sources.
image: Academic Services and Retention Academic Services and Retention
Dedicated to helping each student realize his or her full potential, members of the Office of Academic Services provide students with academic advisement and work closely with faculty advisers. The individual needs of each student, including academic, personal and career goals, are considered in the advisement process.
image: Learning Center Learning Center
A resource for students in need of individual and small group tutoring, the Center also holds workshops covering studying tips, time management, and exam preparation. Non-native speakers of English can improve their language skills in the weekly American English conversation groups.
image: Writing Center Writing Center
Writers of all levels can use the Center to improve their writing ability. Tutors will assist students in organizing their material, developing concepts, and producing grammatically correct writing assignments, reports, essays, and letters. Tutoring sessions last for 45 minutes.
image: Disability Support Services Disability Support Services
The Office of Disability Support Services helps to ensure that all students are provided with equal learning opportunities. Students with special needs will find a variety of support services including extended time testing, private rooms for testing, readers and scribes for exams, note takers, books on tapes and handicapped parking permits, etc.
image: Writing Center Learning Disabilities Program
The Program advises faculty of students enrolled in their classes, and collaborates with faculty regarding the administration of extended-time examinations, notetakers, and student performance. Faculty are encouraged to contact each student's clinical educator, and will be advised at the start of each semester of the individual contact person.
